Guest Post: Guinea Pigs Hit the Media!

Once when cleaning our guinea pig’s cage, I lifted up the pigloos and do you know what I found? To my surprise, I found the movie G-Force and centerfolds of guinea pigs in the pool at the Pigboy mansion! I had no idea that such material was available to guinea pigs!

G-Force

This is a movie about a trained squad of guineagforce_movie pigs sent to stop a billionaire from taking over the world. These guinea pigs are equipped with advanced tools that help them talk to humans, while being secretly trained by a scientist.

Guinea Pig Today

guineapigtoday_logoGuinea Pig Today is a website that’s probably one of the best resources for guinea pigs and humans alike. Guinea Pig Today covers everything from adoption to lifestyles of guinea pigs. This website is a great resource for anyone thinking of getting a guinea pig, even a seasoned guinea pig owner would benefit from this website.

Books

A Guinea Pig Pride and Prejudice and A Guinea Pig Oliver Twist are two mash-up books I found in the Amazon bookstore. The covers of these books are amusing and adorable, the “awe” factor is apparent. In the Amazon description, a quote exists: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single guinea pig in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” I value that a guinea pig could be looked upon in the way of these famous characters.

Egg Money Commercials

Egg Money was a type of credit card in the United Kingdom and used guinea pigs in their commercials! The premise for these commercials was to have guinea pigs go shopping, using the Egg Money card. The Egg Money commercials chose the right animal, the guinea pig! My favorite parts of the commercials are the guinea pigs running on the treadmills and when the commercial opens up, you hear a “wheek!

Home Videos

If you search “guinea pig videos” using google you are immediately bombarded with videos of cute guinea pigs. Images If you search “guinea pig images” using google, guinea pigs fill up your screen. In closing, guinea pigs are media worthy. Guinea pigs are slowly taking the media by storm, be ready for a fury of furriness!
