ASSISTED LIVING

Dogs and cats are accepted at the below assisted-living apartments. One establishment even provides pet care assistance.

HOSPITALS

Therapy pets are accepted at the below hospitals. According to News Net Nebraska, “pet therapy is a relatively new trend that has increased the past few years in the Omaha and Lincoln areas”. Groups offering pet therapy services include: Angel Dogs, Healing Heart Therapy Dogs, Lincoln Pet Partners, and Midlands Pet Therapy.

At Bryan, the hospital has two types of pet therapy: “One uses animals as an actual part of medical therapy in which the animals are directly worked into a patient’s rehab with doctors. The other type … involves the animals visiting the patients in their rooms for comfort.”

HOTELS

Type, number, and size of pets allowed will vary by hotel and even location. Generally, there is a deposit and an extra charge per night; some hotels will refund the deposit upon check-out. Often pet-friendly rooms are limited; sometimes they double as the smoking-allowed rooms. Call ahead for availability and details.

RENTALS

All options under Apartment Guide stipulated: “Weight restriction: 35. No more than 2 pets per home. Breed restrictions.” Some listings required a pet deposit for cats of $250 and others required a deposit for any pet.

PARKS & TRAILS

Dogs of all sizes are allowed at the below parks and trails for no additional fee. They must be well-behaved, leashed or crated, and cleaned up after. Regulations vary as to the areas within the parks where dogs are accepted. Some parks offer a dog walk area.

RESTAURANTS

Well-behaved, leashed dogs that are under the owner’s control at all times are allowed at the outdoor seats or tables of the below restaurants. Call ahead for details. One restaurant stipulated that someone will need to go inside to order food without the dog and bring the food outside.

STORES

Leashed and licensed dogs are welcome at the below stores.
